Olusanya Resumes as Perm. Sec. Humanitarian Ministry

Mr. Olubunmi Olusanya has assumed the role of the new Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

Olubunmi called for strengthened collaboration with agencies, Humanitarian and development partners donors, and stakeholders, adding that working in synergy will have a greater impact on the lives of Nigerians.

Olusanya stated that all the programmes, policies, and interventions implemented by the ministry affect the lives of the vulnerable, such as the elderly, people with disabilities, people of concern, distressed families, refugees, migrants, and internally displaced people.

“When we perform, the whole country will feel the impact, and when we do not perform, Nigerians will not feel the impact.”.

The new Permanent Secretary promised to build on the legacies of his predecessor, strengthen staff growth and development, and enhance staff welfare.

The outgoing Permanent Secretary, Dr. Yakubu Adam Kofarmata, assured his incoming colleague that the ministry is made up of capable hands who have vast experience and expertise in administration, humanitarian affairs, social development, nutrition, poverty reduction, and other areas.

He called on the management and staff of the ministry to extend the same cooperation and support he enjoyed to the new permanent secretary to move the ministry forward.

Director Human Resource Management Onyia-Desy Chinyere Hilda, expressed appreciation to the outgoing Permanent Secretary for his popen-door policy and contributions towards uplifting the plight of vulnerable Nigerians.

She pledged the support and cooperation of the management and staff of the ministry to the new permanent secretary to achieve the mandate of the ministry.

Olusanya was deployed from the Federal Ministry of Youth Development.
