By Bobby Oshoke

Earl Osaro Onaiwu, a Frontline PDP Governorship aspirant in Edo state has described the PDP Congress held in Edo state yesterday as unacceptable and not representative of the will of PDP faithfuls in Edo state.

Speaking with journalists at Benin Airport, Onaiwu described the Congress as the handiwork of a few desperate individuals in the Edo state government who were going against the wishes of the people.

“As a former Director General of the of Governors forum, I have witnessed credible congresses in the past across many states in the country. What happened yesterday indicate despiration and lack of empathy for the faithful PDP members, strangers wants to kidnap the party, we will resist it. Nobody can intimdate me and the other aspirants.” He said.

Onaiwu further criticized the lack of transparency and adherence to acceptable standards as set by the PDP national, describing the entire execise, “hogwash” that did not meet the required transparency standards of the party.

Onaiwu also drew attention to the fact that nine out of ten aspirants voiced their concerns about the Congress’s conduct, suggesting that it did not reflect the will of the people.

In an effort to bring unity and cohesion, Onaiwu called upon PDP faithfuls in Edo state to remain steadfast and patient. He urged them to wait for a unifying figure who could bridge the factions within the state and move the state forward.

“I call on all faithful PDP members in the state and all over Nigeria to come to the rescue of the party in Edo state.” He said.
