Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has elected six representatives into its reconstituted Governing Council, alongside earlier appointments approved by the Kogi State Government. According to a statement by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Uredo Omale, the elections were conducted during separate emergency meetings of the Senate and Congregation.
Those elected include Professor Sani Momoh (Biochemistry), Professor Taiye Oluwagbemi (Forestry), Professor M.B.S. Jibrin (English and Literary Studies), and Professor Victoria Anum (Broadcasting). The Congregation also elected Comrade Solomon Alfa and Dr. Anne Oyewole as its representatives.The statement highlighted the academic and administrative experience of the elected members, noting their contributions to institutional development. Meanwhile, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo had earlier approved the appointment of Professor Mohammed Suleiman Audu of the Federal University Lokoja as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, congratulated the new council members and urged them to leverage their experience to strengthen governance, academic standards, and infrastructure development.The university said the new council is expected to enhance collaboration with management and drive progress across key areas, including staff welfare and institutional discipline.
