Plateau Information Commissioner, Rt. Hon. Joyce Ramnap, Engages Information Officers on Unified Plateau Narrative

By Isreal Adamu, Jos

In a renewed drive to strengthen communication and unify narratives, the Plateau State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap, mni, has applauded Information Officers for their responsible reportage of government activities.

Speaking during an interactive parley held at the Ministry’s Information Conference Centre, J.D. Gomwalk Secretariat, Jos, the Commissioner emphasized the need for a shared vision among information professionals. She highlighted the importance of harmonizing perspectives and working collaboratively to tell the Plateau story effectively.

The forum—set to become a regular engagement—aims to build capacity, improve report-writing skills, and enhance overall media performance. Commissioner Ramnap commended the dedication of the Permanent Secretary, Directors, and Information Officers in positively projecting the image of Plateau State both locally and globally. “Together,” she affirmed, “we can better relate and tell the Plateau story.”

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Nanman Jonah Kparbong, described the parley as a groundbreaking initiative, the first of its kind since the Commissioner’s assumption of office. He praised the forum as a vital platform for engagement and expressed optimism that it would boost developmental reportage. He further urged Information Officers to remain diligent and committed to providing accurate and timely information in their respective domains.

The event also offered an open floor for officers to share the challenges they face, with the Commissioner and Permanent Secretary responding thoughtfully and constructively.

This parley underscores the Plateau State Government’s dedication to effective communication, professional growth, and transparent governance. It marks a significant step in aligning voices and strategies to ensure the state’s narrative is not just told—but told well.
