Plateau State Health Supply Chain Gains National Spotlight

The Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency (PS-DMCMA) has received a high-level delegation from the National Product Supply Chain Management Programme (NPSCMP) on a Strategic Health System Maturity Support Advocacy visit, marking a major step toward strengthening the state’s health supply chain.

During the visit, Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nicholas Ba’amlong, praised Governor Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang for his consistent support of the health sector, attributing recent progress in healthcare delivery to his commitment. He also lauded the approval of Plateau State for the Strategic Health Maturity Support Advocacy, describing it as a milestone achieved through the dedication of PS-DMCMA’s management.

PS-DMCMA Director General, Pharm. Kim Jerry Bot, commended Governor Mutfwang’s leadership and highlighted the inclusion of Last Mile Delivery in the 2026 budget as a move that will significantly improve the distribution and management of medical commodities. He further acknowledged the Commissioner for Health’s role in the agency’s success.

The NPSCMP delegation pledged to work with PS-DMCMA to accelerate the maturity of Plateau State’s Health Supply System. Team Lead, Prof. Linus Odoemene, outlined priority areas, including strengthening the supply chain to meet global best practices, building government capacity in supply chain leadership, and promoting financial self-sustainability.

Commending PS-DMCMA’s progress, NPSCMP officials expressed optimism that the collaboration would usher in a new era for Plateau’s healthcare system, anchored on innovation, accountability, and global alignment.
