Police Arrest Three For killing bread thief In Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State Police Command on Tuesday arrested three suspects for lynching to death of Mr Ebimotimi Freeborn, 32 years of age for allegedly stealing bread at Tombia-Amassoma road of the state.

This was contained in a statement released by the Command’s spokesman, SP Asinim Butswat, and made available to Newsmen on Tuesday in Yenagoa.

“The suspects; Preye Mathew ‘f’ 50 years, Theophilus Tiro ‘m’ 28 years, and Famous Precious ‘m’ 22 years were arrested on 9 July 2023 at about 1700 hours at Tombia- Amassoma road after an angry mob lynched the suspect to death for allegedly stealing bread.”

Butswat in the statement condemned the action of the mob and warn members of the public to desist from taking the laws into their own hands.

The Police image Maker said, the suspects are undergoing interrogation and would be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
