Police keep mum as Unknown gunmen abducts 18 bus passengers  in Kogi

By Noah Ocheni, Lokoja

Barely 48 hours after the abduction of all occupants of 18-seater bus passengers by gunmen, the Kogi State Police Command is yet to confirm the abduction incident at Itobe – Anyigba road.

Our correspondent gathered that all occupants of an 18-seater bus with registration number LAM- 979 -LG plying the Itobe – Anyigba road in Kogi East Senatorial district on fateful day were abducted.

The incident according to sources happened around 5 pm on Tuesday this week when the fully loaded Hummer Toyota bus with registration number LAM- 979 -LG was hijacked at Ajegwu community after Idah road, and all occupants were taken into the bush, according to a source.

The source hinted our correspondent that kidnappers intercepted the vehicle just behind his car and marched the bus occupants into the bush.

When the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, was, however, contacted, he said the command was still compiling information from the DPO in charge of the area.
