President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has designated the upcoming Wednesday as the day for his inaugural Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting since assuming office as the president on May 29.
This debut FEC session will convene subsequent to the swearing-in of the new cabinet members on Monday.
Reports indicate that preparations for the initial FEC gathering are underway, with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, and the cabinet office collaborating on the agenda. The emphasis of this meeting will resemble an induction, during which President Tinubu plans to outline his priorities under the Renewed Hope Agenda to the incoming cabinet.
Additionally, the FEC meeting might greenlight a Ministerial retreat, anticipated to take place right after the meeting, according to Western Post’s coverage.
Recalling recent developments, the SGF had issued a statement on Wednesday, confirming that the president is scheduled to administer the oath of office to the 45 designated ministers. These nominees had successfully undergone Senate scrutiny and screening on August 21.
