In celebration of International Youth Day, President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his dedication to supporting and empowering Nigeria’s youth. His message highlights ongoing and future initiatives aimed at fostering the talents and potential of the nation’s young people.
In a statement issued by presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngalale on Monday, President Tinubu praised the innovative spirit of Nigerian youth, noting their contributions to digital technology and creative industries.
“The President commends the exceptional achievements of Nigerian youth, from those in Ebute Metta using a simple ringlight and camera to build legitimate businesses, to young entrepreneurs in Aba creating unique fashion pieces, and young innovators in Kano advancing sustainable agriculture through technology,” the statement read.
President Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to leveraging the creative and entrepreneurial skills of young Nigerians. He emphasized the recent relaunch of the Nigeria Youth Investment Fund (NYIF), a N110 billion initiative designed to empower youth in key sectors and drive economic development.
Additional programs highlighted include the Digital and Creative Enterprises (IDiCE) programme, the 3Million Technical Talents Scheme, the Skill-Up Artisans Programme (SUPA), and the National Youth Talent Export Programme (NATEP). These initiatives aim to create millions of IT and technical job opportunities, enhancing global competitiveness for Nigerian youth.
“On this International Youth Day, President Tinubu assures that his administration is dedicated to making the dreams of Nigerian youth a reality through a progressively inclusive and expanding economy,” the statement concluded.
