President Tinubu Set to Present 2024 Budget to National Assembly

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to present the 2024 budget to a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday. Dr. Ali Barde Umoru, the Secretary of Research and Information at the National Assembly, confirmed this information on Monday, also addressing the logistics of attendees for the session.

Three weeks earlier, President Tinubu had submitted the 2024–2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper to both chambers, proposing a total expenditure of N26.1tn for the 2024 fiscal year. The Senate’s Finance Committee, after engaging with various heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, approved the MTEF. Key parameters, including the N26.1tn budget, new borrowings of N7.8tn, a benchmark oil price of $73.96, and daily oil production set at 1.78 million barrels for 2024, received Senate approval.
