Procurement Of Fertilizer For Adamawa State Must Follow Due Process Says Governor Fintiri

The Adamawa State Commissioner for Agriculture Mitikishe DishiKhobe has cleared inform the press men on the delay in the procurement of Fertilizer for farmers in Adamawa State. Hon Khobe said the Governor has insisted that the process must follow a due process and a clearance must first be obtained from the Office of the National Security Adviser as there still remain a ban on the product following the usage of some Fertilizer by insurgents in making explosives.

Speaking further the Commissioner maintained that ameliorating the plight of farmers remains a topmost priority of the Fintiri led Administration and government is working round the clock to make sure farmers adequately benefit from this gesture.

Hon Khobe said According to the governor, “I am assuring the people of Adamawa that fertilizer will come. I don’t want to procure fertilizer as is the case with other organisations and individuals”. I must follow to the process of acquiring the product from by obtaining a waiver to procure fertilizer from the office of the National Security Adviser. I am very much confident that it will be granted and the people with appreciate us”. Mind you a ban has been placed on fertilizer since 2018 in Adamawa, Yobe and Borno States. Any government that will purchase this must be cleared. The reason was on the use of the products especially Urea in weaponry I by insurgents. The governor share in the plight of farmers and pray the Almighty God to give us the strength to deliver on all our promises.

He also added that, He doesn’t want to purchase fertilizer and give to farmers whom without proper approval from ONSA will be punished for his cause.
