PUZZLE OVER ACE BROADCASTER’S WHEREABOUT A YEAR AFTER KIDNAPPED

By Joseph ETTA in Calabar

One year after ace – broadcaster Peter Etim otherwise known as Peter was kidnapped on his way to work in Calabar, nobody seems to know his whereabout.

The question on everybody’s lips is “is he dead or alive?”. Yesterday, his family members, friends and well wishers went on a procession on the street of Calabar with posters with inscription such as “Please anyone with useful information should help us” ‘if he is alive, please release him or if he is dead release him for a befitting burial’.

Peter Etim until now was a presenter with the local Radio Station – Cross River State Broadcasting Corporation (CRBC).

In a chat with Daybreak, Mrs. Esther Etim said since she paid the ransom of N600,000 to the kidnappers a year ago (January 2019) they failed to release her husband and stopped calling her or any member of her family.

When pressed further, she opined that her husband would have been dead concerning his health status “my husband was hypertensive and the last time and day I spoke with him while in their custody, he was really gasp for breath and could hardly talk to me”.

However, she made a passionate plea to the kidnappers, if he is dead I am appealing to them to release his corpse to us, to honour him with a befitting burial
