No fewer than 70 houses and barns were yesterday damaged by a windstorm which wreaked havoc in Mabudi, Sabon Gida as well as other communities in Langtang South Local Government Council of Plateau state .
Our correspondent gathered that the devastating rainstorm which accompanied the rain yesterday let a trail of destruction in its wake.
Residents of the area told our correspondent that about 70 houses had their roofs blown off, while severel buildings collapsed.
Nanbol Nanzing ,a resident of the affected community lamented the incident and called for intervention from the state government.
The council boss of Langtang South local government council Hon Nanfa Nbin ,confirmed the incident in a statement signed by his media aide Mr Iliya Bako.
The statement reads that the local Emergency Management Committee in Langtang South Local Government constituted by the Council boss has visited affected households affected by the rainstrom.
He said the Local government council boss led by the Deputy Chairperson who is the Chairman of the committee Hon. Julcit Musa has visited the affected communities.
The statement reads that the council boss sympatizes with the victims and called on them to accept the disaster as God’s will.
