Real Madrid Aware of Challenges in Signing Arsenal Star William Saliba

By  Milcah Tanimu

Real Madrid is preparing for potential difficulties in securing Arsenal defender William Saliba during the summer transfer window of 2025. The 23-year-old French centre-back has emerged as one of Europe’s top young talents, thanks to his stellar performances for Arsenal.

Saliba was instrumental in Arsenal’s formidable defense last season and is expected to be a key player as Arsenal aims for the Premier League title in the 2024/25 season. His impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, attracting interest from several top European clubs, with Real Madrid prominently in the mix.

According to The Independent, Saliba is a prime target for Real Madrid as they plan a major spending spree in the upcoming transfer window. Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold is another Premier League player under consideration, with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

Despite their interest, Real Madrid acknowledges that signing Saliba will be a challenging endeavor. Arsenal’s growing prominence and Saliba’s crucial role in their squad pose significant obstacles for the Spanish giants. As a result, Real Madrid has identified potential alternatives, including Tottenham’s Cristian Romero, should their pursuit of Saliba fall through.

Arsenal remains hopeful of persuading Saliba to stay at the Emirates, despite the lure of a move to the famed Santiago Bernabéu. The club aims to retain their star defender and continue their competitive push in English and European football.
