Rich people are morally and ethically bankrupt – Seun Kuti

Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti has slammed rich people who use their wealth to corrupt a very important process in the development of society.

The son of late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti cited instances where rich old men use their wealth to snatch young girls who ought to be in relationships with their age mate.

According to Seun Kuti who spoke in an Instagram live chat with Comedian Woli Arole, this forces young boys to fight back.

He said, “One thing rich people do in Nigeria that people don’t really talk about: Rich people are so morally and ethically bankrupt that they chase young girls a lot. So they corrupt a very important process in the development of society.

“So, when young men and women are able to interact with each other mutually, between the ages of 18 and 26 when everybody is just leaving school, you find out that all the nicest girls… Instead of them to allow all these young boys to build a relationship with them, the rich men will bring themselves down from their fifty something year old live and dive into this circle and spend dollar on the young girls.

“So it is impossible for you to tell young boys not to try to regain control of their own self-esteem especially when the country is silencing them because of poverty”.
