The Executive Chairman of Riyom Local Government Council, Hon. Bature Sati Shuwa, has congratulated Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, on his formal reception into the All Progressives Congress (APC).In a statement issued in Jos, Shuwa conveyed his congratulations on behalf of the Riyom LGA management, legislative council, staff, and residents following the high-profile reception held at the Jos Polo Field. The event followed Governor Mutfwang’s formal defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his receipt of APC membership earlier in January 2026.
Shuwa noted that the reception, which attracted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yiltwada, federal ministers, APC governors, and party leaders, underscored Plateau State’s growing relevance in national politics.According to him, the turnout reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to unity, inclusion, and progressive governance, while highlighting the strategic importance of Plateau State within the party.
The Riyom council chairman said the local government aligns with the development priorities of both President Tinubu and Governor Mutfwang, particularly their focus on peace, security, and economic growth. He expressed confidence that closer collaboration between the federal government, Plateau State administration, and the APC would translate into tangible benefits for the state and lasting peace in Riyom Local Government Area. Shuwa reaffirmed Riyom LGA’s support for the governor’s new political direction and wished him success in his leadership within the APC.
