Ruth Eze Slams Fake Love in Nollywood, Calls for Realness

By   Milcah   Tanimu

Nollywood actress Ruth Eze has raised concerns over the overwhelming fake love and hypocrisy within the industry. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she expressed disbelief at how individuals can celebrate people they have heavily criticized and continue to do so.

Eze, who is known for her straightforward approach, asked how others manage to fake smiles and engage in such behavior, admitting that she personally cannot fake her emotions. She shared her confusion, stating, “The level of fakeness and fake love in Nollywood ehn. Jesus have mercy. How do u guys do this tin? I can’t even fake a smile.”

This outburst echoes sentiments voiced by other Nollywood figures, including Yoruba actor Kevin Ikeduba, who recently criticized the industry for being filled with fake people pretending to be something they are not. Additionally, former singer Cynthia Morgan and rapper Terry G have also spoken out against the fake relationships and lack of genuine support in the Nigerian entertainment scene.

Ruth Eze’s statement sheds light on the culture of pretense in Nollywood, as she expressed frustration with the industry’s tendency to overlook real friendships while celebrating false connections.
