Senate Clears Nyesom Wike for Ministerial Role

Senator Barinada Mpigi, representing Rivers State in the Senate, lauded Wike’s leadership, hailing him as the best in the state and a role model. The senators unanimously agreed that his list of accomplishments goes beyond what his resume could capture.

Senate President GodsWill Akpabio acknowledged Wike’s contributions and called for him to “take a bow and leave,” signifying their endorsement of his nomination.

Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau also praised Wike’s transformative work in Rivers State and questioned if he could replicate similar achievements as a Minister. Wike’s dedication to public service and track record impressed the lawmakers, resulting in their favorable decision.

Seen in a video alongside his wife, Nyesom Wike, a prominent figure in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), arrived at the National Assembly complex for the screening process.
