“Senate screens El-Rufai, Umahi & others: Day 2 of Ministerial Nominee Screening”

The second day of ministerial nominee screening at the Nigerian Senate saw nine appointees, including former governors Nasir El-Rufai and Dave Umahi, taking the podium. The Senate also screened Wale Edun, Uche Nnaji, Stella Okotete, Adebayo Adelabu, Ekperikpe Ekpo, Hannatu Musawa, and Musa Dangiwa. The screening process will continue on Wednesday for the remaining five nominees, including Dele Alake, Lateef Fagbemi, Muhammad Idris, Ali Pate, and Doris Uzoka.

During the plenary session, Senate President Godswill Akpabio clarified that bowing before the Senate during the screening did not imply clearance or confirmation for ministerial roles.
