SENATOR LALONG ATTENDS MEMORIAL MASS FOR LATE AIRFORCE SPOKESMAN, AIR COMMODORE MAIGIDA; CONDOLE FAMILY OF RETIRED GEN. YAKUBU RINDAMS

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Bako Lalong on Tuesday 2nd April, attended the memorial Mass for late Air Commodore Wapkerem Maigida, former Spokesperson of the Nigerian Airforce held at the Airforce base Jos.

Speaking at the event, Senator Lalong described the former Airforce officer who is a close relative as a gentleman who personified civility, humility, courage and charisma.

He said Maigida served Nigeria with dignity, honesty and sincerity before his untimely death.

Senator Lalong said as a family, they are consoled by the good testimony that he left behind and will do everything to sustain it.

The officiating Priest Rev. Fr. Anthony Okparaji said death is inevitable but much more important, people have to think of how they will give account before God on the last day.

He urged the family to sustain his legacies and also prepare to answer the call whenever God decides because no one knows the hour or time of death.

Afterwards, Senator Lalong visited the residence of retired Brigadier General Yakubu Rindams, a former Commander of the elite 31st Airborne Paratroopers Brigade of the Nigerian Army who died at the age of 82 years.

Lalong described him as a worthy officer who gave his best to the nation during and after his years of service.

He said General Rindams was a man who left his mark in all the areas he served with distinction and continued to serve his community after retirement. He was a passionate Golfer who was a former patron of the Lamingo golf club.

He asked the family to be consoled by the good name he left behind.
