In a significant milestone toward recognizing his unflinching and unwavering commitment to ensuring the plight of humanity in the state and the country at large, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, an APC leader in Sokoto State, has been awarded an award of excellence for lifetime achievements.
In a statement signed by Senator’s spokesman Bashar Abubakar he said this national recognition was coming from one of the National dailies, the SUN NEWSPAPER in Nigeria.
The recognition, according to the newspaper company, was imperative considering the immense contributions from Senator Wamakko.
Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko was represented during the presentation of the award by the state Minister of Works, Barrister Bello Muhammad Goronyo, the supervising minister in charge of FERMA.
The event was held at Eko Hotel Lagos state southern Nigeria.
The event also saw the presence of the Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, Niger State Governor Muhammad Umar Bago, APC National Chairman, Dr Abdullah Umar Ganduje, Minister of Labor and Employment Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi and his counterpart of Aviation Barrister Festus Kiyamo.
Other attendees include the Sokoto State Deputy Governor Idris Muhammad Gobir, APC chairman Sokoto State Isah Sadiq Acida, members of the state executive council, Special Advisors and many well-wishers.
Senator Wamakko has been known as a leader with exceptional exemplary leadership style.
In the same vein, Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto received an award of excellence as the Governor of the year 2024 from the Sun Newspaper, the occasion which was conducted at the same time as that of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
Moreover, the Minister of State Works, Barrister Bello Muhammad Goronyo, bagged an award of excellence from the Thomas Sankara African Leadership Prize.
The award was on his recognition of selfless and innovative leadership in acknowledgement of his outstanding contributions to governance, leadership and National development.
