Senator Wamakko Donates 10 Motorcycles to Sokoto Hizba Board

In his commitment to fostering peaceful co-existence and community development in Sokoto State, APC leader Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has donated 10 motorcycles to the Sokoto State Hizba Board.

The donation is aimed at supporting the board’s efforts in promoting Islamic ethics, character, and conduct within society.

Senator Wamakko’s spokesman, Bashar Abubakar, in a statement, confirmed that the donation fulfilled a promise the senator made during a courtesy visit from the board to his Gawon Nama residence in Sokoto.

Representing the senator, Alhaji Ahmad Baba Altine, Executive Secretary of the Arabic and Islamic Education Board Sokoto, commended Wamakko as a leader who continuously works for the development of the state, ensuring that progress reaches even its remotest areas. Altine thanked the senator for honoring his commitment and prayed for Wamakko’s long life and prosperity.

In his remarks, Abdulmajid Sa’ad Haruna Gobir, Senior Special Assistant on Mobilization to Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, praised the governor for reviving the Hizba Board and encouraged the board to use the motorcycles for the benefit of the entire community.

The Director General of the Hizba Board, Malam Nura Attajiri, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Senator Wamakko, describing the donation as the first of its kind to the board. He assured that the motorcycles would be used for patrols to ensure peace and unity within the state.

Dr. Rufa’i Usman Rungumi, Chairman of the Board, represented by Malam Nafi’u Malami Dan Haja, thanked Senator Wamakko for his generous gesture, emphasizing that the motorcycles would significantly enhance the board’s operations.

In his vote of thanks, the Commandant of the Board, Usman Abdullahi Jatau, expressed gratitude to Senator Wamakko and expressed hope that others would follow his example in supporting the board’s mission. He also commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for the opportunity to serve the state.

The event concluded with the formal handing over of the 10 motorcycles to the Hizba Board by Senator Wamakko’s aides.
