Seplat Energy Plc, a leading indigenous oil and gas producer in Nigeria, has reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the Akwa Ibom State Government to drive sustainable development.
This pledge was made during a courtesy visit to Governor Umo Eno in Uyo by a Seplat delegation led by the Board Chairman, Senator Udo Udoma.
The delegation briefed the governor on Seplat’s recent acquisition of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, now renamed Seplat Energy Producing Nigeria Unlimited (SEPNU). They clarified that the new entity would retain all assets and liabilities of the former company.
Senator Udoma highlighted Seplat’s dedication to contributing to Nigeria’s strategic oil and gas goals while supporting the socio-economic growth of Akwa Ibom. He emphasized the company’s focus on sustainable operations and outlined areas for collaboration with the state government and local communities to ensure long-term mutual benefits.
“We are honored to engage with the Akwa Ibom State Government and share our vision for a collaborative future,” Udoma stated. “Our commitment extends beyond operational growth to the well-being and prosperity of the communities where we operate. Through strong partnerships and shared goals, we can deliver significant economic and social benefits to the country, the state, and our host communities.”
In his response, Governor Eno assured Seplat Energy of the state government’s unwavering support and commitment to providing an enabling environment for the company’s operations. He expressed optimism that the partnership would yield tangible benefits for the people, enhance the local economy, and promote sustainable development.
