With the current dynamic changes in technology across the world, the Sokoto Federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital known for treating mental abilities is currently undergoing many transformations as Dialysis and Covid 19 isolation centers are being constructed and equipped within the premises of the hospital.
The two structures are equipped with modern facilities as digital x-ray machines,dialysis machines,amplification and many other important and modern machines.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after supervising the projects, the Managing Director of the hospital, Professor Shehu Saleh thanked NUJ for the visit sating he had never had such a visit since he assumed office five years ago.
He said the projects were as a result of maintaining the little resources given to them by Federal government adding that people across the country will and beyond would come to know about their efforts.
“This dialysis center is world class, the equipment are available and presently undergoing installations, when finally finished,we will inform the society to for tastes and medication as we have haematology blood bank,chemical pathology immunology, donning as well as sample collection suite,autoclaving, extraction and master mix in the dialysis and corona virus isolation centers among others”.
While commending the management for such efforts, the chairman Nigerian Union of Journalists Sokoto Council Dalhatu Abdullahi S/Magori challenged the management of the hospital on how they sourced for funds to undertake such gigantic projects that consumes billions of naira.
“Even if you don’t like the Managing Director, you must commend him for such developmental projects found only in Sokoto and Yaba in Lagos. Again, he must be commended for graduating the hospital from Psychiatric to dull pledged hospital”, he averred.
