Sokoto Govt Provides Land For Construction Of Renewed Hope Estate

Sokoto state Governor, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto has announced the provision of land for the construction of renewed hope estate. The Governor announced this at the foundation laying of the Estate held at Kwannawa of Dange Shuni local government area.

Ahmad Aliyu said this was in consideration of the immense benefits of the programme to people in the state.

He also said it was part of the state government’s commitment toward providing Housing to low and medium income earners.

The governor similarly explained that work for the construction of 500 housing units at Wajeke in Wamakko local government area awarded by the government is going on smoothly.

In a related development,work for the construction of Gidan salanke Housing estate abandoned by the immediate past administration is now progressing.

Director Press to the Deputy Governor, Garba Muhammad in a statement also said the governor assured that work for the execution of the 2 estates would be completed in no distant period.

The governor further said 136 Housing units at Kwannawa area, under the National Housing Unit Programme were earlier purchased by the state government.

According to him,payment to that effect has already been made.

The governor who was represented by his Deputy Engineer Idris Mohammed Gobir thanked the ministry of Housing and Urban Development for choosing Sokoto among the 12 states to benefit from the programme.

In his address, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Architect Ahmad Musa Dangiwa said 50,000 housing units would be constructed across the country under the programme saying 250 houses would be constructed in Sokoto state.

The Minister therefore, charged the 4 firms involved in the execution of the project to complete the work within 3 months as stipulated in the contract agreement.

He thanked Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto for granting the request of the land for the project promptly.

In a welcome address, the Minister of state in the Ministry, Engineer Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammed Gwarzo said the project was part of the nation-wide Renewed Hope Estate launched this year in Abuja.
