Sokoto Police Command Falsify Arrest Of Nine Persons Along Sabon-Birni Road

Unconnected with the viral social media post alleging that some bandits were arrested at Sobin birni LGA yesterday 30/10/2023. The Sokoto Police Command clarify such information untrue.

According to the statement by PPRO, ASP Ahmad Rufai, the nine people arrested are coming from ZANGON TASHALAWA village going to Sabon-Birni on a weeding Fatiha of their friend by name YUSUF ATTAHIRU where all of them were wearing ASOEBI (ANKO) in hausa language and not on any form of uniform, unarmed and bording commercial motorcycles from KURAWA village to Sabon- Birni town.

Subsequently the vigilantee inform the military who responded immediately and made arrest around 1300Hrs and kept the assumed suspects in their custody.

The Command therefore strongly frown at the spread of false information that may incite the public and hereby urge the public to continue their lawful activities, as any individual(s) involved in criminal activities will face the consequences as spelt out in the Law.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Hayatu Kaigama, psc wishes to reassure residents that Sokoto State remains a secure and safe environment.
