SOKOTO: Special Assistant To The Governor Dumps PDP To APC

By Muhammad Ibrahim, Sokoto

The Special Adviser to governor Tambuwal, Alhaji Garba Marafa Tozai and the PDP Vice Chairman in Isa Local Government, Alhaji Garba Araga of Sokoto state have defected the ruling  PDP to APC following unfulfilment of promises.

The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State in a statement by Bashar Abubakar is facing a serious headache as many of its members from the  nooks and  crannies of the state are dumping the party for All Progressives congress (APC).
Alhaji Garba Araga explained that they decided to throw up their membership of PDP as the party renounced facts and all vital advice which led to the total failure of  fulfilling on the promises made to its people during the  campaigns period.

The latest defectors are the Vice Chairman of the PDP in Isa local Government Area, Alhaji Garba Araga and Alhaji Garba Marafa Tozai, the Special Assistant to Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, along side hundreds of their teeming supporters in the area.

They further said that with retired Col. Garba Moyi Isa, a former Commissioner, who recently decamped to APC, the party is optimistic of winning the elections in the area.

They described the PDP led-government in the state as an absolute failure that was not ready to cater for the needs of the people of the state.

They explained that with Alhaji Ibrahim Lamido Isa as APC Senatorial candidate of Sokoto Eastern Zone, they don’t have any doubt that their tears will be wiped.

The former leaders recalled that during Wamakko’s administration as Governor of Sokoto state numerous developmental projects were brought to the area, adding, ” but now the reverse is the case.”

They pledged to continue to mobilize more support for APC towards its victory at all levels.

Similarly, hundreds of PDP members were received into APC at Gadanbe town of Katami south ward of Silame Local Government Area,  home town of the incumbent PDP House of Representatives member, Hon. Mani Mai Shinko Katami.

Silame Local Government APC Coordinator,  Alhaji Dalhatu Umaru Dantama and a party stalwart in the area, Alhaji Abubakar Gitta Rana received the new entrants into APC on behalf of the party’s leader in the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and APC gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto.

They were assured of equal treatment in the affairs of the party.

With this development, APC in the state is waxing stronger day by day and many PDP members are on the verge of joining APC.
