State Commissioner for Health Dr Faruku Umar Abubakar wurno disclosed this when he led Directors of the Ministry on an inspection visit to the Hospital today.
Dr Faruku Abubakar said this was to ensure that all patients visiting the hospital are being captured as he observed during his recent visit no record is available concerning the activities of the hospital.
Information Officer of the Ministry Nura Bello in a statement said the Commissioner also issued one month ultimatum to the Management of the hospital to put in to use the renovated Amenity and Main theater room of the hospital which has been abandoned for over ten years.
He also directed the Director Medical Services of the Ministry to send Bio-engineers of the Ministry to take inventory of all the available equipment of the hospital.
Dr Faruku Wurno also charged the CMD of the hospital to ensure that staff are being punctual to duty so as to justify their Salaries.
According to him the Ministry would not condone laxity and absconding from duty hence the need for attitudinal change.
The Commissioner assured of the state government’s readiness to improve the services of the hospital inview of its significant not only to people of Sokoto, but to other neighboring states.
In his address,the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital Dr Abdulkadir Jelani Mu’azu promised to look into all the observations made by the Commissioner.
The CMD also used the visit to mentione some of the successes recorded by the hospital within short period of his stewardship.
