SOKOTO:Ex-Govs, Wamakko And Bafarawa Condole Family Of Late Renowned Islamic Cleric,Malam Babi

For the first time in over six months that two former Governors of Sokoto State,Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa met, the duo met at a condolence visit, at the Assada area, Sokoto North Local Government, Sokoto State.

They met during the condolence to the family of a renowned Islamic Cleric, Alhaji Abbas Na Mallam Babi, who died, Tuesday evening, and was buried in the evening,same day.

Bashir Rabe Mani further said, condoling the bereaved family on behalf of his predecessor, Bafarawa, Sen. Wamakko described the demise of the cleric as a great loss not only to his family, but to the state and the country,in general.

Sen. Wamakko prayed the Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljannat Firdaus and give the family the formidable fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The two former Governors also paid a similar condolence visit on the family of Alhaji Tukur Na Mallam Muhammadu Na Mallam Babi Assada, who died last week.

The duo prayed the Almighty Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and give the family the formidable fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

In all the places visited, special prayers for the souls of the deceased were led by Sheikh Bashir Gidan Kanawa.

Such historic meetings of the two former Governors of the state were very rare and whenever they occur, their followers we’re often esctastic and agitated as to how they will end.

However, today’s meeting of the two leading figures in the state was fruitful and friendly as the duo were seen exchanging banters and pleasantries.

Political observers says if such positive tempos were sustained, such will bolster more political understanding and cohesion, especially among the major political gladiators in the state, North and Nigeria, in general .
