Speaker Abbas Condemns Kidnapping of Workers and Patients in Kaduna Hospital

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has strongly condemned the abduction of healthcare workers and patients during an attack on a hospital in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The incident occurred on Monday when gunmen invaded the Primary Healthcare Centre in Layin Dan Auta village, Kuyello Ward, kidnapping two nurses and several patients whose exact number is yet to be confirmed.

In a statement released on Tuesday by the Speaker’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Krishi, Abbas called on security agencies to take swift action to rescue the captives and bring the perpetrators to justice.

“The increasing activities of bandits, especially targeting vulnerable places like hospitals, is alarming. Our security forces must act urgently to apprehend the kidnappers and ensure the safe return of those taken. No Nigerian should remain in captivity,” Abbas stated.

He further urged for sustained efforts to eliminate kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism across all parts of the country.
