The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., has congratulated the All Progressives Congress (APC) for securing a sweeping victory in the local government elections in Kaduna State, winning all 23 chairmanship and 255 councilorship seats.
Speaker Abbas also extended his congratulations to Governor Uba Sani for the party’s resounding success in the elections held on Saturday.
According to the Chairman of the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KAD-SIECOM), Hajara Mohammed, the APC emerged victorious in all chairmanship and councilorship races across the state. She announced the results during a press conference, stating:
“The electoral officers and returning officers have submitted their reports, and the APC has won all 23 chairmanship positions and 255 councilorship seats. The results were submitted in accordance with the law, and by the power vested in the commission, I confirm the results collected and returned by the returning officers.”
Among the newly elected chairmen is Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad, elected as the Chairman of Zaria Local Government. He previously served as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Speaker on Administration.
Speaker Abbas, while congratulating the winners, wished them a successful tenure and urged them to focus on bringing development to the grassroots.
