Speaker Guwor Restates Resolve for Conducive Environment for Lawmakers, Staff

By Anne Azuka

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has reaffirmed his commitment to providing a conducive working environment for both lawmakers and staff of the State Legislature.

Rt. Hon. Guwor made this statement on Thursday during an inspection of the ongoing rehabilitation work in the administrative building of the Assembly at the State Assembly Complex, Okpanam Road, Asaba.

Accompanied by the Clerk of the House, Mr. Otto Aghoghophia, along with management staff and labor union leaders, the Speaker expressed satisfaction with the resolution of the long-standing issue concerning the central cooling systems in the facility.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, following the inspection, the Speaker emphasized that the rehabilitation work goes beyond just physical infrastructure—it is aimed at creating a comfortable working atmosphere that fosters productivity, collaboration, and effective governance.

“As we continue to work towards the development of our dear Delta State, we must ensure that our infrastructure supports our goals. This rehabilitation work is a step in the right direction, and I look forward to seeing its positive impact on our work,” said Guwor.

The Speaker commended the staff for their patience and encouraged them to stay focused on enhancing productivity.

Staff members at various offices in the facility expressed their gratitude, noting their appreciation for the Speaker’s attention to the concerns surrounding the non-functioning central cooling system. They thanked the Speaker for his leadership and efforts to address the critical infrastructure needs of the Assembly Complex.
