    NCPC boss promises smooth 2020 pilgrimage

    The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission Rev Yakubu Pam has promised that the Commission would plan a well organized and excellent 2020 pilgrimage exercise.
    In a press release signed by Celestine Toruka Head Media NCP, Rev
    Pam made this promise recently when he received the Chairman and executive members of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria FCT chapter in his office.
    He said, ” NCPC is doing its best to have a well organized excellent pilgrimage to the Holy Land this year “
    The NCPC boss noted the need to have well knowledgeable instructors from the Pentecostal body to provide leadership at different Holy Sites during pilgrimage. He expressed his desire to ensure that those who go on pilgrimage come back with a transformed mind and should be able to impact on the lives of others. Rev. Pam averred that pilgrimage is the only dividend which Christians enjoy from the government and as such the government should not see it as a waste of resources because it helps to build the faith of Christians. The NCPC helmsman emphasized that the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria has always been a stakeholder in the affairs of Nigeria, adding that the government does not take the church for granted. Chairman of PFN FCT chapter, Rev Dr. Isaac Komolafe congratulated Rev. Pam for his appointment which he said is the reward for his diligent service to God.

    Komolafe who said that the christian body would collaborate with NCPC to develop the spiritual content of pilgrimage expressed interest in the Agricultural expertise of Israel through the NCPC Youth pilgrimage programme.

    The Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission ,NCPC, said it is set for the smooth take off of a Peace Summit on de-escalation of conflict and ending the destruction of lives and property in Southern Kaduna. In a press release signed by James Movel Wuye, Chairman if the Local Organization (Committee, LOC, of the NCPC, made available to Daybreak, the three day Summit  is being sponsored by the NCPC, and Friends of Kaduna State, will  feature presentations on strategies for de-escalation of conflict and ending the destruction of lives and property. Promoting Interfaith community dialogue and bridging the gap in the Southern Kaduna conflict narrative.  NCPC  will highlight presentation on promoting reconciliation, peace and National unity.According to the statement,  the spade of attacks in the area have led not only to the deaths of many,  but also the loss of property and businesses. 
    The Kaduna State government is expected to be well represented at the summit and also some neighbouring states. 
    Dignitaries expected at the Peace Summit include the Executive Secretary of Tetfund, Prof Suleiman Elias Bogoro,  Special Guest,  Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam NCPC Chief Executive,  former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Martin Luther Agwai (Rtd) and former Chairman, Military Pensions Board, AVM Mohammad Rabiu Dabo (Rtd).

    While the groups are Southern Kaduna Traditional Rulers and Emirs, SOKAPU, CAN, JNI, Southern Kaduna Elders Forum, Miyetti Allah and Southern Kaduna Community Development Associations  amongst many others.
    The event will take place between 8th and 10th of September, 2020 in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

    NCPC to kick-start youths agric empowerment programme

    The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC, Rev. Yakubu Pam The NCPC has disclosed that the Commission would set up an Agricultural desk to harness youths empowerment.

    The aim is to harness and stimulate agricultural contents of pilgrimage where the youths would be exposed to skill acquisition programmes in Israel and come back to Nigeria to replicate the knowledge acquired.

    In a press release signed by Head Media of NCPC, Celestine Toruka ,Rev. Pam disclosed this recently in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State during a meeting with the States Chairmen and Secretaries of Christian Pilgrims Welfare Boards in the South South geo – political zone

    He also called on the Federal Government and state governments to sponsor more youth empowerment programmes as a way of engaging them in creative ventures.

    He advised the youths not to wait for white collar jobs but rather to take opportunity of the programmes.

    Rev Pam decried the present state of insecurity in the country and called on Nigerians to join hands with the Federal and State Governments to address insecurity in the country,

    He said, “we must rise up to see how we can save this country from its present security challenges”.

    He further urged the Governors in the South South States to increase their sponsorship of Christians to the Holy Land.

    “I plead with the governors in the South South to lift up the numbers they are sponsoring; it is too low”.

    If states in the north with high percentage of Muslims could sponsor reasonable number of Christians to the Holy land, how much more states in the South South with about Ninety Five percent Christian population, he said.

    He stressed that pilgrimage is the only dividend of democracy that the church enjoys which provides them the opportunity to travel to Israel to build their faith in God.

    The No. 1 Christian Pilgrims Officer of the Federation, commended the infrastructural development of Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State. He particularly scored him high for his initiative to be the first state to have its own functional airline in Nigeria – ‘Ibom Air’ coupled with the industrial revolution of his administration.

    In a press release signed by Head Media of NCPC, Celestine Toruka ,Rev. Pam made this call this recently in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State during a meeting with the States Chairmen and Secretaries of Christian Pilgrims Welfare Boards in the South South geo – political zone at the event, the governor of Akwa Ibom state, Mr. Udom Emmanuel stated that his administration had ensured very peaceful atmosphere in the state, hence they were able to provide transformational leadership for the people of Akwa Ibom State. The Governor who spoke through the Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Ini Adiakpan congratulated Rev. Pam for his well-deserved appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari.

    Governor Emmanuel affirmed that his government was committed to the spiritual well-being of his people and as such would continue to support anything that would advance the cause of Christian pilgrimage in the state.

    He charged the NCPC Boss to use his good offices to unite the Christians and bring people closer to Christ. His words, “as the Executive Secretary, you will further help to bring people to Christ more than ever before”.

    He explained that with the current insecurity in the country, there was need to redirect our youths to God so that the level of criminality among the youths would drop drastically.

    In his remarks, the Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Archbishop Cletus Bassey thanked the NCPC boss for the choice of Uyo for the meeting of the South South Pilgrimage Leaders. He averred that the emergence of Rev. Pam as the Executive Secretary of NCPC would usher in a new vista of hope and development in the Commission. His words, “we believe your emergence will inject a new blood in NCPC’.

    The Chairman thanked the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN in the state for their support.

    NCPC set to establish peace desk- Rev Pam

    The Nigeria Christian pilgrim Commission NCPC, is set to create a functional peace desk resolve issues of peace among Christains.

    This was contained in a press release signed by Mr Celestine Toruka, Head Media of NCPC, and made available to Daybreak in Abuja.
    The release stated that the Executive Secretary of NCPC Rev. Yakubu Pam made this known recently when the President of the organization of Africa Instituted Churches, OAIC, led it’s members on a courtesy in his office in Abuja.

    The NCPC boss, “we need a peace desk for Christians in NCPC to resolve issues of peace”, adding that Christians and the church must be united because there is no denomination in heaven.
    He said, ” time has come for the church to give Caesar what belongs to Caeser and God what belongs to God.”
    Rev Pam called on the church to remain firm stressing that without God human beings cannot do anything.
    He admonished the church to put President Buhari, and his entire government in prayers.

    He said that Nigeria remains the pride of Africa and as nation builders the church needs to play key roles in National development and growth of the economy.

    He extolled the virtues of Rev Okoh and the OAIC saying that they serve as unifying factor in the Christiandom.

    Rev. Okoh- described the NCPC boss as someone who discerns and a testimony.

    Okoh said that OAIC was founded in Cairo, Egypt in November 1978 as a home grown African church which had developed an indigenous way of worship, with it’s headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.

    NCPC boss urges zero abscondment in pilgrimage exercise

    Mrs. Esther Kwaghe, Director, Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, has charged the Security Committee for the 2019 Christian Pilgrimage exercise to ensure zero abscondment.

    Kwaghe, in a statement by Celestine Toruka, Head, Media a8nd Public Relations, on Sunday in Abuja, urged the committee to identify pilgrims who had the potential to abscond.

    According to the statement, “abscondment has been a very big challenge to Christian Pilgrimage over the years”.

    “It is one vice we must do everything possible to curb.

    “God has singled you out for service to serve Nigeria and humanity; you must put in your best and serve well,” he said.

    Kwaghe stressed that Nigeria is blessed with so much resources that no citizen should aspire to live elsewhere, urging Nigerians to look inward and explore available resources toward personal and national development.

    She, however, charged the committee to diligently carry out its duties and accord the pilgrims the respect they deserve.

    She further urged them to do everything humanly possible to achieve the terms of reference so as to help the commission to achieve a successful pilgrimage exercise.

    In his response, John Alifa, Coordinator of the Security Committee, thanked the Commission for giving them the opportunity to serve.

    Alifa promised that the committee would do everything possible to achieve a zero abscondment for this year’s pilgrimage.

    Members of the 2019 security sub-committee were drawn from the Armed Forces, paramilitary services, and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria.(NAN)
