    2023: Media Group laud Ide Owodiong’s blueprint for A’ Ibom

    A foremost professional media group operating under the aegis of Media Professionals for Good Governance have evaluated programmes of governorship aspirants in Akwa ibom and singled out Obong Ide Owodiong Idemeko’s blueprint as comprehensive and satisfactory.

    Addressing journalists in Uyo, Coordinator of the group Mr Dennis Umo noted that the group which is apolitical but promotes good governance arrived at the conclusion after painstakingly going through the various programmes of the major aspirants in the governorship race.

    “You all know that we have served our state and nation at different times as society watch dogs. Our assessment is devoid of any sentiment. We took time to go through the programmes of all the major aspirants and got marveled at the over 234 paged blueprint advanced by Obong Ide Owodiong idemeko to turn around the fortunes of the state.” Umoh said.

    The group highlighted that the blueprint did not only capture the several problems confronting the state but carefully advanced genuine ways to address them for the growth, progress and prosperity of the state.

    “The unique thing about his blueprint is the painstaking analysis and well detailed possible solutions to the identified challenges and these cut across all sectors of the state and beyond.” The Coordinator explained.

    They said Idemeko’s plan for Education Agriculture and Health sectors will revive these critical sectors and put the state back on sound footing.

    “Akwa ibom people will be the greatest beneficiaries of these programmes, this blueprint is all inclusive and far reaching and we as a people must support this vision for the interest of our Children and future generation.

    “The Guber aspirant’s vision on local government administration is excellent. We need an independent local government councils, separated from the apron strings of the state government. we need vibrant legislature and independent judiciary to rejig the system for progress and prosperity.” He explained.

    The group said available records show that the ex ExxonMobil Chief had a strong masters degree in political science and capped it with 30 years unblemished record of service in top rated oil conglomerate ExxonMobil working in its different branches across the world.

    “We are also abreast of his numerous humanitarian gestures as an individual and also through Wodiong-senie foundation co founded with the wife.

    The group further acknowledged the aspirant’s passion and advocacy for true federalism stressing that he has over the years stands firm in calling for true separation of powers and transparency in governance.

    “Akwa ibom will be better off with Ide Owodiong as our next governor, he has content, the pedigree, compassion and more so excellent virtues to administer Akwa ibom state.

    “We also acknowledged his tremendous strides in sports development dating back to his days at Mobil Pegasus club which is enviable and also applauded his mega plans for sports development which will take our youths off the streets and provide them with gainful employment within the state and outside the country.” They further highlighted.

    The group also eulogised Owodiong’s proposed security plan for the state, his robust plan for transportation, creation of nine additional mega cities ,sanitation and proper sewage control and proposed Empowernent for all categories of people in Akwa ibom state.

    “We recommend Akwa ibom people to go through the blueprint and see how prepared Ide Owodiong is to govern the state, he has done a painstaking job which may have cost quality time and resources but in all, it Worth’s the efforts. He can be trusted with our collective destiny.” They said.

    2023: NULGE lauds Owodiong on autonomy for LGAs

    The National Union of local government Employees (NULGE) in Akwa Ibom has expressed joy over the promise of autonomy for Local Government’s in the state by one of the leading aspirants in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Obong Idea Owodiong-Idemeko.

    State President of the association, Comrade Anestina Iweh made this known yesterday in Uyo during a consultative visit to her office by Idemeko’s.

    Iweh urged him to remain resolute and work harder to get the party ticket in the coming primaries to guarantee the implementation of his heart desired programme for the state adding that employees in the Local Government system have been impressed and have singled him out as the only aspirant with a visible and workable plan for the system.

    “You have been very outspoken and consistent in your campaign to ensure full autonomy for the local government councils, we the workers have prayed for a leader who will see to the implementation of the said autonomy to help the growth and progress at that level of government.” The president said.

    She said autonomy for LGAs is long overdue as the present system as implemented is not favourable to the overall growth and progress of the third tier of government but pointed out to him that if he emerged as governor in 2023, NULGE would hold him accountable for his promise.

    ”If you emerge governor in 2023, we will not give you any breathing space until you keep this promise and we trust you will not go back on your words. We are also glad that you created time out of your tight schedule to come rub minds with us which is a demonstration of your sincerity of purpose and humility it is on record too that you are the first Guber aspirant to come here to see us.” She said.

    Earlier in his remarks , Idemeko had told the NULGE team that as a true Democrat his determination to ensure full implementation of autonomy for local government councils is irreversible adding that as a Governor, he would muster the political will to enhance the survival of democracy by building strong institutions against.

    ”We must build strong Institutions.
    We must allow democracy to flourish. I will give people freedom to do their jobs if elected as Governor. We must build stronger institutions which will help our democratic ethics to outgrow any form of manipulation by individuals’.” He said.

    He maintained that the coming primaries would determine the direction of the state beyond 2023 and appealed passionately to delegates to see through his sincerity and unparalleled zeal to change the narratives and usher in a new dawn for the overall growth and progress of Akwa Ibom people.

    The Guber Hopeful reassured the NULGE of his avowed commitment to faithfully implement his blueprint for the state in totality and urged them to partner him through necessary support and prayers as he continue to consult critical stakeholders and delegates before the governorship primaries.

    Staff and other stakeholders in the LGAs of Akwa ibom may soon have a sigh of relief as Obong Ide Owodiong, a prominent governorship aspirant of the PDP had assured of granting total autonomy to the Local Government system.

    Addressing supporters in his native Ibesikpo Asutan Council Area yesterday, Owodiong also promised to extend same autonomy to the state legislature and judiciary in obedience to doctrine of separation of powers, transparency and good governance.

    A political Scientist by training the aspirant told his teaming supporters that he would also establish a vibrant Ministry of Rural and Urban Development (MRUD) and simultaneously create 10 City Development Authorities (CDA) under the Ministry aligned with the geo-political boundaries of the existing 10 Federal Constituencies in the State.

    “MRUD will be responsible for promoting integrated planning and implementation of economic, social and physical development of existing and new urban areas within the 10 Federal Constituencies.

    “The CDAs will be responsible for promoting and securing the development of the areas within each Fed. Constituency that they support.” He said.

    Owodiong also used the occasion to inform the people of his desire to ensure that several families across the state are lifted out of poverty through real empowerment via skill acquisitions, job creations and building of industries, harnessing and development of sports talents and sporting facilities while ensuring transparent handling of state finances.

    He vowed to ensure zero tolerance for corruption, ineptitude and every form of graft and assured that competent, disciplined and
    honest people will always be rewarded if elected as the next governor in 2023..

    In the same vein, the former ExxonMobil Director has urged pensioners to pray for the realization of his ambition as their challenging days would be heralded by a new dawn.

    Describing retirees as special people who gave their active days in service to their father land, Owodiong said he would accord special attention to their welfare.

    “Together we can ensure that the plight of pensioners in Akwa Ibom State becomes a thing of the past and arrears owed are paid up.” He assured.

    One of the foremost PDP guber aspirant in Akwa Ibom Obong Ide Owodiong has launched a new website for him campaign in a renewed move in coopting all indigenes of the state in the diaspora in ushering a new dawn to the human and infrastructural development of the state.

    The 2023 IDEA (Inspire. Develop. Empower. Advocacy) Campaign working for the realisation of Idemeko’s governorship dream was announced yesterday in a press release made available to newsmen in Uyo.

    The release endorsed by Dr. John Obisung, Secretary, IDEA Campaign Organization explained that the Campaign Organisation launched the new website to showcase and promote the visionary blueprint for a new dawn for Akwa Ibom from 2023.

    According to the release, ”the 2023 IDEA Campaign Organization is thrilled to announce the launch of its new website, www.ide.org.ng which is intended to give the electorate a close-up view of the persona, vision, mission and political philosophy of the aspirant.

    “The website will also keep them informed of his activities on and off the campaign trail. Most importantly, visitors to the site will have access to the blueprint for the State which has been researched and put together in line with the vision and mission of Ide Owodiong-Idemeko for a great Akwa Ibom State.

    ”The 2023 IDEA Campaign Organization therefore invites visitors from every part of the state, the nation and the world at large to explore the new website.”

    It encouraged all to read, download, and share, ”the New Dawn: A Great Akwa Ibom, the blueprint of Ide Owodiong-Idemeko to Inspire, Develop and Empower Akwa Ibom State and her people if voted in as the governor of the state in 2023.

    As the race for 2023 Governorship election in Akwa Ibom state gathers momentum, Obong Ide Owodiong Idemeko a governorship hopeful on the platform of peoples democratic party (PDP) has made passionate appeal to the voters at all levels to shun immediate pecuniary gains and vote competent people into public office in 2023.

    Owodiong who made the remarks when he officially consulted the Chapter Officers of PDP in Ibesikpo Asutan local council of the state yesterday emphasized that he would bring his wealth of experience in administration to turn around the fortunes of the state if elected.

    His coming into the race according to him would be to make a difference in the style of governance by improving the quality of education, ensuring massive agricultural implementation/food sufficiency and real empowerment of citizens among other lofty goals.

    The aspirant, who advocated for attitudinal change towards politics also urged voters to remain vigilant all through the electioneering process to ensure that their votes genuinely count to preserve our democracy.

    “The people of Akwa ibom should shine their eyes now, we must get it right to enhance our development and progress, we must strive to protect our democracy by ensuring that our votes count and we must choose competent people at all levels of public office against those with immediate pecuniary benefits.” He said.

    PDP chapter chairman in Ibesikpo Asutan Mr Uwem Etim who extolled the sterling qualities of the aspirant prayed God to see him through the primaries and the general election.

    “The good Lord who has stated a good job in you will make it perfect, we will stand with you through the race to the end in appreciation of what you have done for us in this community and the state.” He further emphasized.

    Several speakers at the event, mostly beneficiaries of Idemeko’s benevolence took turns to explain how he put them through the tedious journey of life to make them breadwinners in their various families, calling on the people to support his aspiration to give him a better platform to do more.

    Highpoints of the event which attracted thousands of supporters from the area was a prayers session conducted for the success of the spirant and presentation of gift items to the party officers.
