Tambuwal Flags Off Multimillion Naira Erosion Control Works Spread Across The State

While commissioning the projects Governor Tambuwal said the over one billion naira water storm projects spread across the state was as a result of support given by communities to the policies of the serving PDP leadership in the state.

He prays for lasting peace at all times in this part of the country adding that other projects in the state are on-going and would be completed in scheduled periods praying that the projects are of benefit to communities concerned.

“All those compensated should please pack their belongings and allow the contractors to effectively continue with their work, I direct the Ministry concerned to hasten payments of those affected but not compensated,” Tambuwal directs.

He also said right from inception of his administration, his leadership has not relented in its performance and pursuance of redundancy to effectiveness considering the University Teaching Hospital, Health, Education and Agricultural facilities being undertaken across the state.

“Desert encroachment is fast approaching some areas and therefore measures must be taken to fast track the dangers”.

He also prayed for more courage and 0rayers from general public to continue to perform more projects that would have direct bearing to the lives of the mass society.

Earlier, the State Commissioner for Environment, Sagir Attahiru Bafarawa said the timely support of the state government has accorded them opportunity to perform the collaborative work with World Bank effectively.

Lugu dam, River banks drainages and other water storm works are among the on-going projects.

The works would consist of 18.5 km water works projects that caused great threats to the affected communities.

The work rounding by June next year would be assured of qualitative and lasting and hand over to you, the governor of Sokoto state.

He said the Mabera Storm Water Works is compulsory considering the number of communities living in the said areas and assured the Governor that all the structures affected along the sites were compensated.

Speaker after speaker, communities leaders all commended Tambuwal for his foresight and assured of their supports at all times.

Highlight of the brief ceremony was presentation of teaser drama by the Matawalle Entertainment/Drama group,traditional musicians and praise singers among others.
