The Rector Taraba State Polytechnic Suntai Dr. Ayuba Abarshi, have louded the management of the Polytechnic under his leadership for upgrading academic excellence of the institution at a competitive level.

The Rector who was speaking with our Correspondent in Jalingo, also resolved that he would provide an enabling environment for students, staff and the Polytechnic community to feel safe and secure as well as carry along in the implementation of various programmes and policies of his administration.

The institution under his leadership, he said, would experience qualitative leadership that would meet the yearnings and aspirations of members of the academic and host communities.

According to Dr. Abarshi, he undertook an assessment of critical infrastructures and staff welfare, adding that, “Taraba state Polytechnic community has witnessed a face lift; staff are well motivated; students’ needs are promptly attended to while security of the Polytechnic remains sacrosanct”.

To this end, the Dr. Ayuba Abarshi stated that his administration was putting in place necessary efforts towards maintaining a free flow of information channel that would encourage a feedback system as part of enhancing dynamic management of the institution.

He therefore urged staff to redouble their efforts in the discharge of their duties, advised students to improve on their commitment to learning in order to achieve success as enabling environment is being provided for them to study, even as he charged entire Polytechnic community to be security conscious and be their brothers’ keepers at all times.

The Rector thanked Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku, Taraba state government for giving him the opportunity to serve and contribute his quarter in the educational sector of the state in the interest of development.

“The erudite scholar, Dr.Abarshi is determined to reposition the Polytechnic and to tackle challenges as they unfold, even as he has demonstrated sagacity and resilience not to be deterred by the enormity of the task ahead of him”, some of the Polytechnic lectures, told our correspondent.

The lectures noted that “the leadership of Dr. Ayuba Abarshi in the school had ensured fairness that has brought about relative calm and peace. There is no favoritism, there is a reward system for staff that distinguish themselves in the discharge of their responsibilities which is an innovation in the history of the Polytechnic.
