Terrorists, on Sunday night reportedly massacre over 28 people in separate attacks in Malagum 1 and Sokwong communities in Kagoro Chiefdom in Kaura Local Government Area of Southern part of Kaduna State.

The operations which lasted for several hours, started in the midnight of Sunday in the two communities uninterruptedly, eyewitnesses who escaped the scene of the attacks revealed.

Kaura local government Council Chairman, Hon. Mathias Siman, who spoke on Monday, however said he could only confirmed seven people gruesomely killed in Sokwong Community.

A family of three including a father, wife and house maid, leaving alongside the road, were the first casualty of the attacks as the three were reportedly murdered.

Local people said the incident is coming barely five days after a recent attack launched on Malagum 1, killing three persons.

According to chairman all the houses in Sokwong Community were razed down by the terrorist, even as the chairman said he’s yet to confirm the killings in Malagum one.
Hon. Mathias urged residents in the area to remain calm as security agencies were being deployed to carry out investigation in the area.

Accordingly, Speaker of Kaura Local Government Area, Hon. Atuk Stephen, said over 22 people had been confirmed killed in Malagum 1, while eight were said to have been killed in Sokwong.

Hon. Atuk described the killings as deadly while calling on the Federal Government and security agencies to redouble their efforts in order to curtail renewed killings in the area.

“Attacks in our area have been consistent and multi dimensional with efforts of the security operatives and government not seen or felt,” he added.

The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police command, Mohammed Jalige, could not respond when contacted until the time of filing this reports.

Findings however revealed that the number of those missing in the communities under attacks are still being searched and collated.
