TG Omori Updates Fans on Recovery After Failed Kidney Transplant

By Milcah Tanimu

Nigerian music video director TG Omori has shared an update on his health following a challenging period marked by a failed kidney transplant. In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter) on August 30, 2024, Omori expressed his gratitude for the support he has received and provided insight into his ongoing recovery process.

In his update, Omori wrote, “Up and grateful, o Lord. (Sadly, I can’t backflip.) Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes, I’m healing now from the stitches of the failed one. I’ll continue the fight, been on it for past year or two and I can’t back down now. Love y’all so much. Can’t wait to make new, crowded music videos for y’all.”

Omori has been battling kidney issues for over a year and has undergone multiple surgeries. His latest update follows a series of health-related announcements, including a previous post where he revealed that his kidney transplant had not been successful. On August 28, 2024, he shared a photo of himself in the hospital bed with an oxygen mask on Instagram, accompanied by a caption that read, “Will be up soon. I promise!”

Earlier this month, Omori disclosed that he had received a kidney from his brother but faced complications. In a previous post, he mentioned, “One year after my kidney crashed, I just had a failed transplant at St. Nicolas Lagos. Pray for me.”

Following these updates, Omori’s fans, fellow celebrities, and industry peers have expressed their support and well-wishes. Notable figures such as Davido and Fireboy DML commented on his posts, sending messages of encouragement and prayers for his recovery.

Omori’s resilience and positive outlook have been a source of inspiration for many, and his ongoing journey highlights the challenges and uncertainties faced by those dealing with serious health issues. As he continues to recover, his fans remain hopeful and supportive, eagerly anticipating his return to creating vibrant and impactful music videos.
