“Tinubu Approves Buses for Students Amid Fuel Subsidy Removal”

In response to the fuel subsidy removal and upcoming mass protests, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken steps to support students of public universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. He approved the provision of buses to student bodies nationwide, aiming to alleviate the impact of increased transportation costs. This initiative will ease the daily commuting burden on parents and guardians.

Additionally, President Tinubu has directed the removal of all restrictions on students’ loans, ensuring access for any student or household in need. His commitment to education remains unwavering, as he aims to prevent financial constraints from hindering educational pursuits.

Furthermore, the President emphasized that Federal Institutions of higher learning must avoid arbitrary increases in sundry fees to minimize difficulties for parents and students.

The government’s efforts also extend beyond transportation and education, with the release of over 200,000 Metric Tonnes of grains to families in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Vulnerable students will also benefit from conditional cash transfers and food distribution.
