Tinubu Begs Health Workers To Drop Strike Action, Return To Work

By Joyce Remi-Babayeju

Following a meeting with President Bola Tinubu , the National Vice President, Obinna Ogbonna today disclosed that health workers under the auspices of JOHESU have dropped its nationwide strike action.

According to Ogbonna the strike action was called off due to the progress made during the engagement with the president.
He explained that the decision was taken after health workers met shortly after the meeting with the president and decided to call off the strike and gave a 21-day timeline to the government.

Ogbonna said , “We met with Mr President at the villa earlier today, and he pleaded with the striking health workers to give him the benefit of the doubt that he will resolve the matters amicably to our benefit and positive results.”

“The congress considered his plea and also said we should give a 21-day timeline to assess progress and commitment of state actors in resolving the issues.”

However, the media learned earlier on Monday that President Tinubu pleaded with JOHESU to call off the strike and allow its members to return to work.
