Tinubu Honors Late Deputy Chief Whip Onanuga’s Service and Commitment to Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Adewunmi Onanuga, the Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives and representative of the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency in Ogun State.

According to reports, Onanuga died on Wednesday after a brief illness.

In a statement released on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised the late lawmaker for her unwavering dedication to her constituency and her impactful role in advancing women’s participation in politics.

“She remained committed to serving her constituency, and her passion for building a better Nigeria will always be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her,” Tinubu said.

He further highlighted Onanuga’s influence as a trailblazer for women in politics, emphasizing that her hard work, integrity, and commitment to justice set a powerful example for aspiring female leaders.

The President acknowledged her significant contributions as Chairperson of the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development during the 9th Assembly and her current role as Deputy Chief Whip in the 10th Assembly.

On behalf of the Federal Government, Tinubu extended heartfelt condolences to Onanuga’s family, loved ones, the Ogun State government, and the people of her constituency.

He offered prayers for God’s comfort to all grieving her loss and for her soul to rest in eternal peace.
