Tinubu Lights Up Dakibiyu District, Commissions Connector Road CN-8 Road

By Joyce Rémi-Babayeju

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday opened up the Dakibiyu District as he commissioned the new Connector Road CN-8 Road, also known as Asuquo Okon road.

President Tinubu, represented by the Vice President, Kassim Shittima likened the newly commissioned Connector Road CN- 8 road as breathing life into communities that had suffered inadequate infrastructure for too long.

“Today, we tear down that wall. Today, we breathe life into communities long waiting to be seen, long waiting to be served.”

“These roads, stretching from the bustling Arterial Road N-5, better known as Obafemi Awolowo in Jabi District, to the vibrant Arterial Road N-1, the Olusegun Obasanjo way here in Dakibiyu are a vital artery of this beautiful city. They are a bold signature of our commitment to urban renewal and economic revitalization”, he stressed.

Mr. President, who praised the FCT Minister, Barr. Nysome Wike for his sense of urgency in the execution of these projects, noted that the Renewed Hope Agenda is not rhetoric but practical impact, and policy translated into progress.

President Tinubu reemphasized that his administration is also committed to the development of the outskirts of Abuja.

Our vision for Abuja is not limited to its glittering center. We are equally committed to its outskirts, to its margins, to its hidden corners where dreams often struggle to break, he noted.

“The dividends of this project are immediate and enduring. Communities will flourish, congestion will ease, and most critically, livelihoods will thrive.”

“Shops will open, markets will thrive, children will return to school faster, emergency services will arrive quicker.”

Furthermore, President Tinubu gave assurance that his administration remains steadfast in its support for the FCTA.

“We will continue to provide the resources, policy backing, and institutional cooperation needed to ensure that projects like this are delivered on time and to the highest standards”, he reaffirmed.

However, the FCT Minister Barr. Nysome Wike recalled how terrible the roads were before the construction, adding that with the support of Mr. President the contract was awarded last year in September.

“This contract was awarded last year, September, and we flagged it off October last year. Today, we are commissioning this.”

“Your Excellency there’s no way to talk much, but to thank you for your continued support, and we continue to solicit for more support, he asked.

Earlier, the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud in her remarks stated that the Renewed Hope Agenda continues to bring tangible transformation to the landscape of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

She noted that the road network would ease movement, enhance connectivity, and stimulate further social and economic development within this rapidly growing area.
