Tiwa Savage: A Real Woman Longing for Love and Family

Tiwa Savage is celebrated worldwide for her powerful voice, electrifying stage presence, and pioneering role in taking Afrobeats to the global stage. Yet beyond the glamour and accolades lies a woman whose personal journey through love, heartbreak, and motherhood has resonated deeply with many.

In one of the most challenging moments of her private life, Savage explained how an intimate video became the subject of blackmail. According to her, the footage was leaked after her lover mistakenly posted it on Snapchat. Although it was quickly deleted once the error was realised, a third party had already captured it. The incident, while deeply personal, once again placed her life under intense public scrutiny.

Over the years, Tiwa Savage has spoken with remarkable honesty about her views on love, relationships, and family. Her openness has turned her experiences into lessons for fans who see in her not just a superstar, but a relatable woman navigating life’s emotional complexities.

Even her former husband, Tunji “TeeBillz” Balogun, has publicly acknowledged her good heart and dedication to family. During the height of their marital crisis, TeeBillz admitted his shortcomings, saying, “I hurt a woman who genuinely loved me.” He praised her strength, noting that she carried the burden of the family during his lowest moments.

“Tiwa Savage is not just a great artist, she is a great mother,” he added, underscoring her commitment to her son and to building a stable home despite personal challenges.

Tiwa Savage on Love and Growth

The award-winning singer has never hidden the lessons she learned from her highly publicised marriage and its collapse in 2016. Reflecting on that period, she admitted that love, no matter how deep, is sometimes not enough to sustain a troubled union.

“I loved blindly. I trusted completely,” she once said, capturing the intensity of her devotion at the time. With hindsight, she came to understand that emotional connection does not always guarantee stability, a realisation that struck a chord with many who have faced similar struggles.

In recent years, Tiwa Savage has placed greater emphasis on self-worth and emotional health. She has consistently stressed that love should never require the loss of one’s identity or peace of mind. According to her, choosing to walk away from a harmful situation can be an act of strength rather than failure.

Above all, motherhood and family remain central to her life. Savage has repeatedly described being a mother as her greatest achievement—greater than fame, awards, or global recognition. For her, family is not about perfection, but about presence, resilience, and unconditional support.

Through her music and her words, Tiwa Savage continues to embody the story of a woman evolving—one who longs for love, values family deeply, and refuses to lose herself in the process of finding happiness.
