Tragedy Strikes as Nigerian Nurse Allegedly Murdered in UK

The family of Taiwo Owoeye, a former ophthalmic nurse at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, mourns her untimely death in Suffolk, United Kingdom. Taiwo, also a nurse in the UK, was reportedly strangled to death by her husband, David Abodunde, on November 28.

Allegedly assaulted by her husband, Taiwo had reported the case to the police on November 27. The police discovered her lifeless body in their apartment the next day. Despite efforts to revive her, paramedics declared her dead at the scene, leading to the arrest of her husband on suspicion of murder.

The couple, married in 2016, had relocated to the UK in 2022, with David joining later in the year. Taiwo’s brother, Alex Owoeye, announced her passing on Facebook, revealing that the husband was declared the sole murderer after a police investigation. Owoeye also mentioned that the couple’s three children were under the care of UK social services.

Expressing grief on social media, Opeyemi Owoeye called for justice for Taiwo, emphasizing that she was killed by her own husband. Other relatives and friends echoed the sentiment, describing the incident as heart-wrenching.

Olabanji Fabiyi, a Facebook user, shared his shock over the tragic news, questioning the brutality of the act and highlighting the disturbing audio clip of the couple’s altercation before Taiwo’s demise.”
