Tragic Discovery: 34-Year-Old Woman Found Lifeless in Canal Near Piggery Farm

In a deeply distressing incident, the lifeless body of a 34-year-old woman, identified as Bidemi Damilola, was discovered in a shallow canal near a piggery farm in the Mabolufon area of Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. The victim had gone missing before her body was tragically found, prompting her husband, Adekunle Fetiga, to report her disappearance to the Igbeba Police Division.

According to the Ogun State Police Command, Fetiga informed authorities when his wife failed to return home after leaving on Thursday. The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, although a plastic bag containing an unidentified liquid substance was discovered at the scene. Additionally, two pairs of slippers suspected to belong to the deceased were found beside the canal.

While there were no visible signs of violence on her body, an investigation has been initiated to uncover the details of her disappearance and subsequent demise. Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the preliminary investigation, stating, “Once completed, the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation. In the meantime, the body has been taken to the State Hospital Mortuary in Ijebu-Ode for an autopsy.” The community remains shocked by this tragic event as authorities work to unravel the mystery surrounding the woman’s untimely death.
