Tragic Loss: Father Blames Access Bank Mobile App Failure for Daughter’s Death

By Milcah Tanimu

In a heartbreaking incident, a Nigerian father is mourning the loss of his 9-year-old daughter, allegedly due to the malfunction of his Access Bank mobile app. According to a statement released by PIDOMNIGERIA on Monday, the father’s inability to transfer funds using the app led to dire consequences.

Reportedly, the daughter, who required urgent medical attention, was admitted to an undisclosed hospital’s emergency unit. Tragically, she was left unattended as her parent struggled to pay for her medical expenses, citing the Access Bank mobile app’s failure.

The distraught father, who works offshore and was unable to be physically present, expressed his anguish over the situation. He highlighted that the bank’s mobile app had been dysfunctional since May 5, 2023, preventing him from fulfilling his financial obligations.

The PIDOMNIGERIA statement conveyed the father’s grief, stating, “A single dad follower of mine who works offshore and who is currently at work just reached out to me this morning crying bitterly. Failure of Access Bank @myaccessbank app to function since yesterday has caused him to lose his 9-year-old daughter in a medical emergency. Access Bank is a complete [expletive] bank. They always have issues with their bank app without any explanation every now and then.”

This tragic incident sheds light on the critical importance of reliable banking services, especially in urgent situations where lives are at stake.
