Urgent: Federal Government Summons NLC and TUC for Emergency Meeting to Prevent Nationwide Strike

In a last-ditch effort to prevent the impending nationwide strike scheduled for October 3, the Federal Government has called for an immediate meeting with the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC).

Sources indicate that the meeting is set to take place later this evening in the Conference Room of the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President at Aso Villa.

Originally slated for noon today, the meeting was rescheduled to the evening to allow Organized Labour representatives to consult with their leaders who are located outside of Abuja.

Reliable sources reveal that the NLC and TUC received the government’s invitation this morning via the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
