The minister pledged to support the first major airshow in Nigeria, adding that the Aviation Ministry should laise with the various departments in the FCT Administration to ensure the show becomes a success.

He said that the administration will support the show in the following various departments, like transportation, train services, and security.

“The FCTA will be interested to partner with you and have an official opening speech that day to officially endorse this show, which is a very, very major show in Abuja.”

“You will have to liaise with the Transport Secretariat as it requires the train support, the CNG buses.”

Wike stated that the administration will not give financial support but would support in areas of not only transportation but also security. He, however, informed that the ministry must pay for allied services such as publicity and transportation services.”

“You can see what we’ve done for you. Look at the airport road down to your gate, where you’re collecting the due. We did do that road.”

So let me welcome you to FCT and assure you that we’ll do everything possible to see that it’s a huge success, he assured.

The Aviation and Aerospace Minister, Festus Keyamo said that the ministry was on a visit to inform the minister of the first International Airshow in Abuja, slated for 2nd- 4th of December, 2025.

Keyamo said , “I wish to inform you of the forthcoming Nigeria International Airshow that will take place in Abuja between the 2nd and 4th of December 2025.”
According to the aviation minister, the airshow will be a major global event fashioned after the Farnborough Airshow, the Paris Airshow, and the Dubai Airshow.

Speaking earlier, Keyamo said, “This will be a major global event. Around the world, airshows are key fixtures on national aviation calendars—we have the Farnborough Airshow the Paris Airshow, and we’ll be going to the Dubai Airshow in the next two or three weeks.”

“It’s a regular event across countries, but we have never had one in our history since Nigeria began receiving aircraft.”

He disclosed, ” that this will be the first show from the first aircraft landing in Nigeria in 1925 until now, this year marks 100 years of aviation in Nigeria.”

He noted that the Airshow will be part of that centenary celebration, adding that the Aviation Ministry will partner with a private company to drive this initiative, which is massively supported and aided by the Nigerian Air Force.

As a global event, we have international companies and major aviation powerhouses from around the world coming to Nigeria to display their innovations and interact with us within our aviation ecosystem, Keyamo disclosed.
He emphasized that the event forms a major tourism opportunity for Abuja as he sought official endorsement by the FCT minister.
