The FCT Minister Barr. Nyesom Wike has insisted that the commissioning of Ring Road 1 N16 to Judges’ Quarters in May 2025 remains sacrosanct to mark Mr. President’s second year in office .

Wike directed the contractors, CGC building company handling the road project to ensure that the Ring Road 1 N16 must be commissioned by Mr. President on May 2025.

He said, “the agreement with the contractor is that the road project will be part of the projects to mark the second year anniversary of Mr. President”, adding that already the administration has already released 70% of funds to the contractors.

“As I speak to you, we have not less than 70% of the money in the budget. So you have to work day and night to make sure Mr. President commissions the project on his second year anniversary in office”, the minister asserted.
The minister further who promised to give Abuja residents the best, stated that the administration would not compromise.

He said, “We owe a duty that Abuja competes favorably well with other cities overseas.”

Meanwhile, Speaker of the House of Representative, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen has said that like many other developing nations, Nigeria has an infrastructural deficit.

According to Hon. Abass, Nigeria needs to invest about $30 trillion over the next 30 years to close the infrastructure gap and achieve the level of development required for sustainable economic growth.

He said that the construction of the access road from Ring Road 1 by N16 to the judges quarters is part of strengthening urban infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for residents of Abuja.
