The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has conferred the “Award of Excellence” on the President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Comrade Ladi Bala.
Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dame Pauline Tallen who presented the Award to Comrade Bala said that it is in apprecitation for her gallant contributions to the growth and development of the Nigerian Women, Children as well as women and children and people living with disabilities.
In a press release signed by SA Media to NAWOJ President Bolanle Ukpevo, the
Minister who presented the Award described Comrade Bala as a visionary leader with an unflinching support for meaningful women development programmes.
Dame Paullen noted that Bala’s concern for women is in line with the visions and aspirations of the Ministry Women Affairs and Social Development.
Also former President of NAWOJ Comrade Evelyn Oyinlo, was honoured with the Award of Excellence for her contributions to the course of women in the country while Senator Aishatu Binani and other senators were honoured in recognition of their roles in driving women issues in the country.
Present at the event were the President of the Albino Foundation, Mr Jake Epelle and the NUJ Chairman FCT Chapter, Mr Emmanuel Ogbeche .
